Lots of speculation is going around on the new iPhone 5… In HD!! Verizon Wireless is currently testing a CDMA version of the iPhone 4 and 5 and Verizon confirms they are making network changes to bring the iPhone to their network. The new iPhone 5 is going to be loaded with awesome new features like video chat on 3g and 4g (no longer restricted to WiFi only), face recognition and extreme downloading. This iPhone 5 will have dual core processors and higher and powerful graphic chips that can deliver higher video resolutions and better “still” images when taking pictures, AND it will make multi-tasking a breeze. IPhone 5 is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2011.
It is believed that iPhone 4G will have some features that have never been seen before in any of the smart phones. As the new iPhone 5 is offering 4G facilities, it is more than just a Wi-Fi enabled phone. The features and specifications of the iPhone 4G is: OLED touch screen, Dual Core processor, Removable battery, 5 megapixel camera (HD video recording and LED Flash), Video calling, double storage capacity (64GB and 32GB) and Touch sensitive outer casting like Apple Magic Mouse. A lot of other innovation will be seen not only in the hardware but also in the software.
Another big surprise is that its brand new technology makes it possible to act as a payment device or as an identification or security card is named as Radio Frequency identification or RFID. This is a technology that may have wider and more frequent application in the near future. For a phone like this it requires to have a strong security system and there comes the importance of face identification in which the phone can identify its owner by the image of the face and unlocks only for the owner.
The iPhone 5 will be equipped with an NFC chip which enables it to exchange data with devices in close proximity via a short rage high frequency wireless technology. The other features include shiny glass back piece – 9.3 mm thick, Custom E-mail alerts, Scratch proof and shatter proof screen, and an enhanced battery backup of 14 hours talk time on 3G and 7 hours on 4G. Standby 600 hours, messaging indicator light. This enhanced battery backup will be a boon for the users as the phone is supposed to be used for continuous usage like networking than just making phone calls.
Our advice on all this remains the same – if you can’t wait, if you have to have an iPhone on Verizon today, buy it and don’t worry about the future. If you can wait, wait as long as you can and then buy the best iPhone (or any phone) available to you and again, don’t worry about the future.
